FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2023 59 Although playing ping pong is what we do and enjoy the most, we often take out time for special occasions like the two pictured below. On Oct. 31, we celebrated Cathy's last day with us. Cathy spent several years as an HOA desk attendant. She often spent her days at the Courts and was the most friendly, cooperative, helpful, and pleasant person we could have asked for. She attended to every ping pong need we had. Cathy (seen in the middle of the above photo) in her airline stewardess uniform (that was her former occupation), will now spend her retirement days flying around the world as part of her retirement perks from American Airlines. We took some more time off from playing ping pong on Oct. 28 to help celebrate one of our player's birthdays. Mitch Harmon, seen above in the red and black jacket, has been playing ping pong with us for about 10 years now. If we ever choose a team mascot, Mitch will be it. He is loved by everyone, except when we are at the receiving end of his awesome serves and lightning fast smashes. Mitch keeps us laughing and happy all the time. His laugh is contagious. Spend 10 minutes talking with Mitch and you will never forget him. He is the most memorable character in ping pong at Four Seasons. ~ Niles Sundstrom Table Tennis Did you see a flood of folks wearing Pink on Oct. 26? The month of October was Support Breast Cancer month. Our group gathered to support this cause and played in honor of our mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, nieces, cousins, wives, friends, and brothers who we have lost to breast cancer. We also honored those we love who are in remission and those currently in treatment. Our player, Dr. Tim Jones, provided us with breast cancer awareness hats, pins, socks, and bracelets — all in support of breast cancer awareness. He reminds us that early detection is a key to survival. Thank you, Dr. Jones. With the cooler weather, you might find us playing around 2 pm. We welcome new players at any time. Just email Lizzie and we can set you up with a paddle and some practice. Welcome to our newest player, Eddie. Eddie also plays Tennis and Pickleball. No reservations are required to play on the Paddle courts. We have extra paddles and balls for you to try out. You'll find most players there on M/W/F and some Sat/ Sun. We'd love to have you join us. See you on the courts. ~ Lizzie Gallegos, ecgallegos@outlook.com Paddle Tennis Winter is here as the weather cools off we'll try to play on. Thanks everyone for making our annual BBQ with the Shuffleboard Group a success. We had fun playing some games then gathering for burgers and hot dogs. We play at The Summit on Tuesday and Friday at 9 am. If you are interested in learning the game, please join us. All are welcome. Any questions, please call or text me at (840) 234-6494 or email hanknegrete16@yahoo. com. . ~ Hank Negrete Bocce Ball
