24 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | DECEMBER 2023 | Wine Club Another New Year… already! November was another fun evening with Heidi Daniels. Her winemaker stories are not only educational but very interesting and fun. We sampled Maison Noir Wines from Oregon and Washington. 2021 Knock on Wood Chardonnay, 2022 OPP Pinot Gris, 2021 In Sheeps Clothing Cab Sauv, and NV Horseshoes and Hand Grenades red blend of Syrah, Merlot and Cab. We are dark this December. No meeting. Enjoy this wonderful time of year – embrace family and friends and of course, a special wine for all the December special events. Make your Christmas list with a Syrah. Wrap presents with a Cab. Try something new at a dinner with neighbors. Just enjoy! With this year rushing to a close, it's a good time for reflection and anticipation. Our wine club has really taken hold and our gatherings continue to draw new friends and bring the wonderful world of wine education to our neighborhood. The steering committee is excited about the coming year and all it holds. Our next meeting is Jan. 28 in The Lodge Ballroom. Doors open at 5:30 pm. New year memberships will begin. Randy Mellinger and Tom Plant will present wines from Peirnao Estate in Paso Robles. (Another great destination for everything wine!) For more info, email us at fourseasonshemetwineclub@gmail.com Above are a few pictures from our October meeting. Great tastes from Pelzter Winery too! Really fun night, right? Healthy Living The celebration goes on for the host of Healthy Living. Dave celebrated one of the big numbers. We are not telling – Happy Birthday, Piano Man! Healthy Living focuses on health- related printed materials that are shared with the class. As seniors, we need to be mindful of finding the "healthy road to travel." We are a support group and know that social interaction is also part of a healthy lifestyle. The File of Life project, supported by the Healthy Living Club, has been approved for our community. An explanation of this project was covered in the November Herald. The process is slow. Getting the materials to place in packets does not happen quickly. We are hopeful that we can report in the near term that this is in the process of completion. We meet every Wednesday at 9 am in the Multipurpose Room. If you have any questions about our program, please call Dave & Karen Tuvim at (626) 710-7163.
