| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JANUARY 2024 | 27 Happy New Year! And… Happy Leap Year! Although it only rolls around every four years there is something about a change in our normal atmosphere that is inspiring. In this age-old, eventful tradition, it is LOVE. Many men run for cover around the 29th of February in fear of being asked by their sweetheart for "their" hand in marriage. Tired of waiting, many a gal takes it upon herself to stir those banked embers into flames of romance. Unthwarted, she forges ahead, (having waited for this particular year) to pop the question. Wrapped up in a nice warm quilt, demonstrating her sincere intentions of keeping her man warm on cold winter nights, she anxiously anticipates his resounding answer. "Yes, ma'am, it would be my honor to marry you, AND your quilt!" Aer all, who can resist such a labor of love, when delivered in love? So it goes, we seamlessly move from last year's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, with Sugar Plum Fairies dancing about, to this year's equally exciting Fairy Tale Wishes. In hopes of St. Fabric, threading his needle, and laying his finger aside of his nose, sewing together those in love's pose. Living happily ever aer taking their Leap, they are now ready for the Long Arm of love to cherish and keep. Seasons Quilters begins this new year with a club project everyone can get in on. Always quilted in love, of the cra and for each other, perhaps we will include a Leap Year new tradition? Also, January marks the annual Road to California Quilt Show, held at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario Jan. 17– 20, and is the second largest Quilt Show in the country. www.roadtocalifornia.com.
