26 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JANUARY 2024 | e Four Seasons Players club has THREE exciting announcements! • We need YOUR CREATIVITY in developing our Players Club logo. • We need YOUR BRILLIANCE in ideas for future performances. • We need YOUR ENTHUSIASM in welcoming our newest member, Paul Lavigne One of our 2024 goals – beyond bringing you stellar entertainment - is to develop our very own club logo to represent the spirit of our club - and we can think of no better way to achieve that than through the creative talents of our very own community! We KNOW we have incredible creative talents out there who may have some ideas in developing an image which speaks to our love of theater AND our community. All ideas would be most welcome and there is no deadline – although it is a goal for the new year. Performance Ideas: While our 2024 calendar is happily planned out, we would LOVE to engage the community in ideas for future performances beyond that. Our genres are pretty open to anything that falls under "wholesome" entertainment – productions which are agreeable to a "readers theater" style with simple staging and suitable to our ballroom venue. If you've experienced our performances in the past, you have an idea of what works. Even if you don't have a specific play in mind, we welcome general ideas that might spawn further creative juices for our club. We would LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU! For the logo and/or performance ideas: please contact Victoria – contact info is below and our 4SP brochures are also available in the lobby with further information. Now… without further ado, we'd like to welcome our newest member, Paul Lavigne! For those lucky enough to attend our recent "Home for the Holidays Talent Show," you may have noticed Paul up front, capturing every moment he could onto video. He has joined us as our "full time" videographer - with no prior experience – just raw enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn – which is what our little community theater group is all about. A perfect fit! I have asked Paul for a little BIO (and he loves Santa): Paul Lavigne joined 4SP aer videotaping the "Home for the Holidays – Community Talent Show." is was the first time he used a video camera since using an Eastman Kodak Brownie 8mm to document his 8th grade trip from Plattsburg, New York, where he was born, to Burbank, CA in 1961 where he and his parents lived for just five months. In 2018, nearly 60 years later, he and his wife Mary moved to Los Alamitos, CA following retirement as a Health Care Administrator, to be closer to Mary's family. Paul and Mary moved to Four Seasons in May 2021. Mary passed away in June 2022, aer 28 years of marriage and a six-month battle with cancer. Paul served on our Finance Committee in 2021 until Mary's illness. He was recently appointed by the Board to the Architectural Review Committee. Paul found a new way to help by video recording the "Vintage Voices Christmas at Four Seasons" and "Four Jazz Ensemble Concert" in December. Paul is very committed to developing programs to improve the lives of Four Seasons and other older adult communities. He initiated and developed the "File of Life +" Program that the Board approved last September. He has developed the "My Final Gi" PDF, which a person can use to develop a plan to take care of their affairs upon death, launched a "Neighbors Helping Neighbors" web site, and recommends the "MyID" (bracelet/pendent) Health Care Information Subscription for emergency responders. REMEMBER: We are always looking for new members or even just curious guests to stop in at our meetings. Club meetings are held the third Friday of each month at 1 pm in the Ballroom. Your interest and inquiries are always welcome - please call Victoria at (951) 473-3235.
