Happy New Year! Time marches on and so does the busy calendar. It is still party, party, party everywhere I look. As a child, I would have never predicted my life was going to be one party aer another. But here's the funny thing … I was always trying to create clubs. Sometimes I would even think of ways you could get "inducted" into the club, this always seemed to end with me being grounded and no new club! Another childhood predictor was my daydreaming about an old abandoned community center. I would see this old empty building and the walls of a swimming pool through the pine trees as I walked to and from town. My mind would plan imaginary meetings and events in the space. I giggle to myself as I share this (I was under 10). Now I am taking pause. Pause to be grateful for the way things work out sometimes, and comfort that even when I felt lost I was still on the right path. Last year I helped many new clubs get started and it is truly my pleasure to do so. I have a feeling some of those clubs were the product of childhood daydreams too. I am looking forward to what this year will bring. Come see me if you have any ideas. e generosity of Four Seasons' residents has been overwhelming once again. Toys, food, and all the miscellaneous household items for the Veterans have been incredible. ese items go to make another human's life just a little nicer. Keep your eyes open for other opportunities to make a difference throughout the year. P.S. e old abandoned community center is now the home of the Idyllwild Community Playground, next to the Butterfield Amphitheatre and soon to be home of a new community center building. ~ Tracie Rodgers 4 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JANUARY 2024 | From Your Activities Director Message from the Supervisor As we look forward to the opportunities and challenges that await us in 2024, I want to share with you some of the organizations we have allocated funding to, so we can better serve you, our treasured seniors. In our first year in office, we have provided significant funding to the Family Services Association, Smiles for Seniors, and Cara-A-Van. Each of these organizations provide valuable services to seniors!. Being able to support these organizations, in their quest to enhance the quality of life for our senior citizens, is one of the most rewarding and heartwarming facets of being your county supervisor. In the coming year, we will continue rolling out our Hire District 5 programs. ere will be Hire District 5, Hire a Senior, and Hire a Vet. We will also be hosting several forums and health and safety fairs, specifically focusing on services to seniors. I wish you all a healthy and prosperous new year. ~ Yxstian Gutierrez, County Supervisor
