Quite a few residents were questioning the recent decision by the Board to turn off the pool heaters for four months and why the solar panels on the rooops aren't helping. is is a good question and I thought I'd provide some helpful information. We have two kinds of solar panels; e first kind is on the roofs of e Lodge and Spa buildings. ere is a total of 568 "Photo-voltaic" panels that are offsetting our electricity production throughout e Lodge, spa and pool equipment area. e sun's UV rays are absorbed by the panels and converted into electricity, offsetting our consumption. e second kind are solar "hot water panels" located behind the pool building. ey are what helps heat the pool water offsetting natural gas usage. e hot water panels are heated by the Sun's temperature and are only effective when the temps are above 75 degrees on a continual basis. e hotter the temperature, the less natural gas is used. As always, your vote and submitting your Ballot is necessary to achieve quorum for the election.
