If you are interested in improving strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and overall body conditioning, then you may want to consider attending an aerobics class to see if it fits your needs. This is an all standing low impact class… NO JUMPING! The instructor leads each class in a warm up session followed by the aerobic portion, and then she does a cool down. Light weights are used for the last 10 minutes of the class. Occasionally there are a few exercises for balance and an easy dance for fun. Classes are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in Abravanel Hall from 10 to 11 am with instructor Christine Alesiani. You can choose the number of classes each week that you would like to attend. (There is no class available on the second Wednesday of each month.) The cost is $5 per class paid directly to the instructor. You may pay for and try two classes without joining the club. The annual club dues are $6 (please make the check payable to OH Aerobics). ~ Written by Margie Raisigel Aerobics The Senior Fitness Club offers residents two exercise classes with professional instructors four times a week. Both classes are low impact exercise, including balance and coordination, flexibility, range of motion, stretching and strengthening. Chair Yoga Class - Lamia Room with professional instructor Cheryl Todd. The Chair Yoga exercise class meets Mon., Wed., Fri. from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm. You are 45 minutes in the chair and 15 minutes behind the chair. Sign up in lobby at 11 am. Cost is only $5 per class attended after joining the Club for only $5 for the entire year. The first class is free to try and see if it is a fit. Chair-To-Mat Yoga Class -Lamia Room with professional instructor Tatis Cervantes-Aiken The Chair-to-Mat exercise class meets each Tuesday from 8 to 9 am. You spend 30 minutes in the chair plus 30 minutes on the mat. You must provide your own mat. This instructor is a resident of Ocean Hills and does not charge for this class, but you must join the Senior Fitness Club for only $5. Senior Fitness Club
