6 | LIFE IN SOLERA | FEBRUARY 2024 | A belated Happy New Year to everyone at Solera Oak Valley Greens. We hope you had a wonderful time during the holiday season with family and friends. We did not have a meeting in December so this week the Ambassadors will be delivering Welcome books to new residents who registered from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, 2023. If you did not request a visit and a Welcome book anytime during 2023 and would like one, please see Claudia at the office. She will give us your contact information and we will prepare a Welcome book for you. If you enjoy meeting new neighbors, the New Resident Welcome Advisory Committee is looking for new ambassadors. If you are the owner-resident, we invite you to attend our next committee meeting on Fri., Feb. 23 at 1 pm, in Oakmont 2, to see who we are and what we do. If interested in joining, please complete a Volunteer Interest form and submit it at the office. We meet on the fourth Friday of the month at 1 pm. We also host a "Social Gathering" the last Wednesday of April and October. Usually, I give a presentation on "Living in a HOA" during our Social Gathering in April and October. This presentation is for everyone, however, those residents who have not lived in a HOA before should not miss out on the information. I explain: the laws we must follow, the budget (operating, reserves, and capital improvement accounts), responsibilities of the Board, Management, and Residents, Committees (Recreation Activities, Communications and Technology, Design Review, Common Area Landscape, and Decorations), and Questions and Answers. If you are a new resident and would like to get this information prior to our Social Gathering, please contact me, or let an ambassador know, and I will meet with you to present this information. I would like to recognize the ambassadors of this committee and express appreciation for their hard work and dedication to our community: Patricia Cobb, Jill Markman, Margaret Bly, Sheila Kelly, Joanne Larson, Marchi, Sarah Tsai, and Dale Van Camp. ~ Marcia Casem, Chairperson, New Resident Welcome Advisory Committee Welcome Committee
