| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2024 | 59 Women's Golf The Sun Lakes Women's Golf Club is an 18-hole club that plays every Thursday on the Championship Course. Our membership includes golfers of all ages and abilities who share the love of golf and love to have fun. We play easy games, interesting tournaments, and specific competitions such as Low Gross/Low Net which is on the calendar for February. This is a quarterly competition that not only includes the opportunity to win scrip that you may spend in the Pro Shop or restaurant, but also awards that are presented for the lowest gross score and the lowest net score within each flight. In December, the Club elected a new Board of Directors for 2024. Thanks to all who volunteer to help make this club the best it can be. We invite you to join us and become a part of the only women's 18-hole club within Sun Lakes. It's a great way to meet like-minded golfers, hone your skills and have a blast while doing it! The Ballroom was beautifully decorated and so were our tables. Bea Mercado opened our business meeting and thanked the outgoing LEGS board and then introduced our new 2024 board members: Bea Mercado, President; Gayle Bilek, Vice President; Valerie Villareal, Secretary; and Raynell English, Treasurer. All members in attendance received a surprise gift and we had an ornament exchange of some beautiful, funny, and golf related ornaments. Our Sun Lakes chef provided us with a very delicious meal and dessert. Entertainment was provided by "Infinite Imagination" and was enjoyed by all. A big thank you to Michele Walter and her assistants Pat Echelberger and Connie Winter for the beautiful table decorations, menu and entertainment for our very festive event. If you haven't picked up your 2024 handbook, they are available for pickup at the North Clubhouse. If you're interested in checking us out, come out and play with us and meet our very friendly ladies and have some fun. Our dues are $25 yearly or if you're only interested in attending our monthly business/lunch meeting and social events, you can join as an Associate member for $10 per year.
