EPAP Animal Rescue Group meets at 10 am in the Multipurpose Room on the third Monday of the following five months each year: September, November, January, March, and May. We strive to bring interesting and informative guest speakers to our meetings to help you keep your animals safe and healthy. Tip of the month: Lock up household toxins… always keep your household chemicals, such as cleaners and pesticides, out of reach from your dog. Many clever dogs can and will get into products kept under the sink or in the garage. Try using baby proof locks to seal cabinets with toxic products. This project is to research, identify, analyze, and organize any existing SLCC policies and processes to determine whether they align with the standards of a governance policy model (in contrast to a micro- management, reactive style). The initial phase of interviewing members of the SLCC leadership (Master Board of Directors, Sub-Associations (3), and Chartered Committees (11), and FirstService Residential (FSR) executives, has been completed. The OPA team thanks all who participated. The information gathered has provided a deeper and a more thorough understanding of how SLCC currently functions. This insight gained will help provide the means to improve our communities functioning going forward. Their contributions enabled us to present a comprehensive set of documents and information to Sequoia Grove Consulting (Ms. Conlon's consulting firm). Over the next several weeks, she will be developing an index of governing policies for review and comments by OPA and the Board. Once approved by the Board, development of the actual verbiage for the governing policies will begin. The goal is to finalize the OPA project plan, including FSR's role and participation in the project, by mid-January. The target remains to achieve 80 percent project completion and gain Board approval in advance of the next election scheduled for April 2024. Ultimately, the Board will review and approve the governing policies and processes that encompass all aspects of SLCC's executive and operational functions. It's important to note that the objective is not to alter the fundamental roles and responsibilities of our HOA organization, but to provide a more modern and effective approach to preserve and lead our community. In summary, the OPA project is the Board's means to affect the transition to a governance policy model of leadership. SLCC Governance/Organization Process Analysis (OPA) Project
