| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | FEBRUARY 2024 | 31 Golf Club From the President, Mike Caldwell: I would like to thank Tom Moore for serving as President this past year. It has been a pleasure to work with him in transitioning to a new executive committee. Our chairpersons for 2024 are: Elliot Yeager as Membership and Tournament Chair, Debbie James as Handicap Chair, Meredith Becker as Social Chair, Bill Swinney as Rules Chair and Larry Becker as Greens Chair. I appreciate the work that these chairpersons have performed in the past and look forward to their input and contributions in 2024. Among the items that the Board will initially address are increasing membership and participation and a review of the existing bylaws of the club and the role and responsibilities of the Board. I appreciate the opportunity to be of service to the Four Seasons Golf Club and look forward to an eventful year of golf. From the Tournament and Membership Chair, Elliot Yaeger: The February Schedule for the Four Seasons Golf Club is as follows: Feb. 1 at 8 am – Team: Best 2 Net Scores per Hole Feb. 6 at 8 am – President's Cup FINALS (Match Play): 1st or 2nd & 3rd or 4th Feb. 13 at 8 am – Partners' Scramble at 8:30 am – Individual Nine Hole Low Net Tournament Feb. 20 at 8 am – Individual Low Net: All Par 5s + Two Par 4s Feb. 27 at 8 am – Partners: Best Net Score Per Hole From the Social Chair, Meredith Becker: Our banquet in January was as successful as I anticipated. There were 90 people who attended with overwhelming enthusiasm, that contributed to the success of the event. The Social Committee is already working on our next event scheduled for April … more information to follow. Don't forget to put your red on for Valentine's Day Golf on Feb. 13! From the Rules Chair, Bill Swinney: Did you know? Rule 13.2c "Ball Resting Against Flagstick in Hole" (1) If your ball comes to rest against the flagstick left in the hole and any part of your ball is in the hole below the surface of the putting green, your ball is treated as "holed." (2) If your ball comes to rest against the flagstick left in the hole and no part of your ball is in the hole below the surface of the putting green, your ball is not holed and must be played as it lies. (3) If the flagstick is removed and your ball moves, there is no penalty, and your ball must be replaced on the lip of the hole. The Golf Cart Club Parade took place on Sat., Dec. 9. The combination of the Golf Cart Parade, Village Voices Concert, the tree lighting, and Holiday Market made for a very festive atmosphere. Kudos to Tracie! Many residents "toured" the decorated carts as they lined up for the start of the parade. There were the usual spectacularly decorated carts. Dave Weakley led the parade through the community and provided a ride to Santa Clause (Fred Rau). Thanks Dave, Char, and Fred! As usual Tracie Rodgers was an immense help, especially her blasts and postings. Debbie and Cecil Frazier, Stella Torres and John Schilling and Donna McLaughlin helped with the Welcome Table and provided holiday goodies and libations. Donna McLaughlin also decorated the roundabout in front of The Lodge in a holiday motif with a big assist from Tim Gross our handyman.
