| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MARCH 2024 | 17 This month's annual Sunshine luncheon was celebrated with an appropriate "Busy Bees" theme. Our attending members relished the tastiness of Rudolfo's fine Italian Cuisine as we were cheerfully reminded of our many accomplishments this past calendar year. The annual "Sunshiner of the Year" award was shared by two individuals: Sharon Weismann and Suzanne McGowan. Thank you, Sharon, for the endless, quiet ways you have contributed to our causes, and to Suzanne for taking charge of the monthly caregiver program. Kudos also go to super planner Vangie Williams, who organized, then orchestrated a "Busy Bees" luncheon to be remembered by all. Bob and Barb Hughes nominated Nancy and Bill Ward for February's Kindness award. Barb told Bill she thought the snake in her cactus planter was a rattler. After checking, Bill discovered the snake was NOT a rattler; but it was entwined in bird netting, which prevented it from eating or drinking. So, Nancy got scissors and cut the netting off, thereby releasing the reptile. Bob and Barb are thankful that Nancy and Bill are kind neighbors. The snake was even more in luck because that episode of kindness gave it a second chance at life. There is a motto of this true story: be kind to ALL creatures, great and small!
