| LIFE IN SOLERA | MARCH 2024 | 43 GOLF CLUB GOLFERS WANTED! Men and women are welcome to come and play golf with our Solera Golf Club. The goal is to have fun no matter what your skill level is. We play each Tuesday morning rotating through Oak Valley, Tukwet Canyon, Yucaipa Valley, Hemet Golf Club. We plan on sprinkling in three rounds at Soboba Springs later in the summer and fall. We'd love it if you would like to join us for a round or two before deciding if you would like to join us on a regular basis. We'll have a couple of club members and a board member in your group to play with you should you want to give us a try. You can contact Richard Crowe at (951) 769-1580 for more information. Our first event in February was a casualty of the Atmospheric River that came roaring through Southern California with record rainfall across the region over a five day period. Wrapping up January was a Two Man Best Ball game. Tournament Director Jim Parker had this to say, "Well, the only thing brighter than the sunshine was Gary Stange's clothes (below, left). Speaking of Gary, he and partner Glenn Bradd fired a net 66 (6 under par) to take first place. Second place went to Alan Forbes and Stu Osborne, who shot net 67 (-5). Special recognition to Bob Umeck for turning in another noteworthy performance. He fired a gross score of 71 (-1)." CPs were won by Umeck, Gary Hardy, Osborn, and John Dockery. Moving on to Yucaipa Valley to play a foursome Shamble Two Best Ball game which was won by Glenn Bradd, Jesse Marin, Gary Stange and Armand Silva. CP winners were Craig Martin, Marin, Jesse Mendez, and Jim Karalun. The Twosome Best Ball game was a well contested affair with pretty tight scoring between the top 4 places. John Dockery and Ed Young finished 1st with a score of 4 under. Stu Osborne and Gary Hardy were a stroke back in 2nd. A stroke behind was Marin and Mendez. There was a tie for 4th with the team of Jaime Maciel - Ernie Salvador and Bob Ardis - Rod Fry. CPs went to Dockery, G Hardy (1'7"), Marin and Dave Duncanson. During the cold months, we will be playing at 3 pm. Please call Dorothy Hoffecker at (951) 217-5357 for more information. Everyone is welcome.
