| THE COLONY NEWS | MAY 2024 | 15 Our committee has been eagerly waiting for this day and the opportunity to show you what we do. All Colony residents are invited to our Open House on Wednesday, May 1, from 6 to 8 pm in the Lounge. You will be treated to a guided tour of our Studio and given the opportunity to learn about the current technology we use for our cameras, lighting and sound systems during events, meetings and functions. For some of you, the opportunity of the tour might stir interest to use your skills and experience to join the committee. Or perhaps you're someone who doesn't have experience but would be interested in learning as-you- go, as others have, while being a committee member. We welcome your questions. Information on how to become involved will be available at our Open House. For many others, though, this will simply be a chance to see the technology we use and what the committee does — before, during and after a work assignment. Whatever your curiosity and interest, we hope to see you at the Open House! COMMUNICATIONS & TECHNOLOGY By Greg Hill The Architectural Control Committee (ACC) is committed to preserving the aesthetic integrity and value of The Colony to ensure it remains a premier residential community. In line with this mission, home inspections were undertaken throughout the community. This initiative serves as a cornerstone of their commitment to upholding the standards defined in our CC&Rs, Rules and Regulations, and the ACC guidelines. Home Inspections: Preserving Community Aesthetics Home inspections play a pivotal role in maintaining the aesthetic allure of the community, directly impacting the investment of every homeowner. These inspections, carried out by the ACC and the Property Services Department, primarily assess the external condition of homes. Focus areas include, but are not limited to, the general upkeep and condition of properties. This includes, but is not limited to, the state of exterior paint, garage door condition, presence of rust on wrought iron fences and gates, and signs of wood rot on patio covers, among others. Homeowners are encouraged to proactively review their homes to ensure they meet our community's established standards. For a detailed understanding of compliance inspection procedures, please refer to Article 16 in the Rules and Regulations. Final Inspections: Ensuring Project Completion After home improvement projects are approved by the ACC, homeowners are reminded of the 60-day time frame to finalize their projects. Once you have completed your project, please inform the Property Services Department so that ACC members can schedule a Final Inspection. Typically, Final Inspections are conducted within one to two weeks of notification, and you will receive a letter in the mail detailing the outcome. Completing your project within the allotted time frame and promptly notifying the Property Services Department ensures a smooth inspection process, allowing you to enjoy your new improvements without delay. Your Role in the Community Your diligent maintenance of your property does more than just enhance The Colony's beauty; it fosters a cohesive and serene living environment for all residents. For any questions or further details regarding Home or Final Inspections, or for guidance on preparation, feel free to contact the Property Services Department. We extend our gratitude for your dedication to maintaining the high standards that define The Colony. Together, we can continue to make The Colony an exemplary place to live.
