THE CREATIVE SPOTLIGHT: KEN COHEN
My interest in photography goes back to the early 1950s as a young teenager when I was given a complete darkroom
set by a neighbor, including an enlarger, chemicals and photo paper. I made a rudimentary darkroom in the family
basement with old blankets and read books from the town library about photographic developing.
I take pictures
of everything that
catches my eye, anything that moves me in
some way. People, landscapes, architecture
and historical objects all present interesting
perspectives. Animals in the wild, however,
give me an added pleasure as they are so
enjoyable to watch, incredibly unpredictable
and offer unimaginable opportunities to
catch an expression or action I've never seen
before.
Photography is, for me, a very relaxing, non-
stressful, satisfying hobby. It is something
that is always full of surprises and which can
be enjoyed well into old age. I plan to continue
for as long as I can click the shutter.

The Art Group: Royce Jerman offers "Painting Pals" on Tuesdays
from 10 am to 1 pm and "Beading Buddies" on Wednesdays from 10
am to 1 pm in the The Lodge. No experience is necessary and all

Paint and Sip Night: Please come join me on Mon., May 13 at 5 pm
for our "Paint and Sip" class. I envision this being a relaxing, fun night
where you will complete an acrylic painting, and I will guide you
through the process. The class fee is $35, which includes all supplies
- you just bring your wine (or beverage of choice) and an open mind.
