| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2024 | 9 Library Committee It's May already; this year is flying by! The trees and flowers are lovely this time of year, and it's getting warmer. When you're out and about, be sure to stop in the Lodge and check out what's new in your Four Seasons Library. It may look a bit different as the Library Committee has been discussing some changes to increase space for more books, expanding the hardcover books date ranges, and maybe adding some additional categories of books for your reading pleasure. The puzzles may have been moved to another location in the Lodge to make more room for those additional books we hope to stock. Your library is a dynamic place! You may notice that our Four Seasons Resident Authors' books are displayed differently. Each book should now have a sticker on the outside cover to identify that these are special books. They, also, should be filed directly in with the regular hardcover and paperback books to increase their visibility and circulation and make available more shelf space on the left side for other hardcover books. Pictures of authors may be proudly displayed on the top shelves on that side of the room. We don't have pictures of all our resident authors at present. Keep looking up when you enter the library to see new pictures as they are added. If you are a resident author, please identify yourself to a member of the Library Committee (our names are listed in the back of the Herald magazine) or tell Lodge staff at the front desk. They can contact one of us. A talk is now being finalized. Be watching for publicity in the Lodge and in the Herald. Another change we hope to make is to move at least some of the nonfiction books, biographies, and large print books from behind the cabinet doors on the right- hand side and display them on regular shelves. Until that happens, please know that you can open those right-hand closed doors, pull out the shelves inside, and check out the wonderful variety of books there. Donations of materials are always welcomed. Be sure books are in good condition, preferably with paper covers, and 2015 and newer. Also we appreciate your current magazines as you finish reading them. The library has audiobooks to loan, as well. They're located on the lower left side of the library behind unlocked labeled doors. ~ Betty Crase
