From gardening gloves to kite flying, and all things hatching in between, Pat's creative side urges all of us to utilize more of those right-brain cells. Juergen Roesler's spring quilt of houses makes one want to go visiting. Such a happy street to live on. Thank you, Pat and Juergen for this month's contributions, illustrating why we enjoy this hobby so much. Demonstrating use of our Club Members right brain, Seasons Quilters has decided on the Quilty Barn Block from Lori Holt's book, Farm Girl Vintage as our group project. As whimsical as spring, this unique collection of farm/barn/animals, (and even cute little farmhouses) will be 14" finished square blocks. Each participant will be making their own quilt from one block to whatever size you want. Good time to create that perfect country quilt? Or table runner with matching potholders? Thinking about joining us? Now is the perfect time to come and share your craft with fellow quilters who enjoy each other's company and imaginative ideas. The next local go-to destination is the Los Angeles County Fair, held from May 3 – 27, followed by Shoot for the Stars Quilt Run July 11-14 and 18-21. The Temecula Outdoor Quilt Display on Oct. 5 and the Reindeer Dash Run Oct. 3-5 are great kick-offs to fall. Each event has their own website, and the Runs show maps and participating stores. A Quilt Run has six or more stores participating, each giving away prizes, including a special prize for large groups. Getting your Run Card stamped at each location ensures your chances of winning, and loading up a vehicle with quilters promises extra fun. Especially when buying more fabric you don't need, but can't live without. Our Club meets EVERY Thursday, (except the fourth Thursday) in the Arts & Crafts Room from 10 am to 4 pm breaking for lunch at the Bistro at 12:30 pm. May meetings will be the 2nd, 9th, 16th and 30th.
