| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2024 | 55
New 2024 Tennis Club member, David Garner (pictured at left),
became a resident of Sun Lakes in March of 2023. According to David,
easy access to our six tennis courts was a primary reason for choosing to
live in Sun Lakes. He is quick to say about the Tennis Club, "People here
are great," they are, "friendly and helpful." David started playing tennis in
intramural competition while in college at the University of Washington.
Since then, off-and-on, until this past year, he prefers to play singles and
enjoys easy access to our courts. The Tennis Club members are pleased
that David has found his home in Sun Lakes and the active life of our club.
The month of May has the following Tennis Club schedule:

skill levels are invited to take part. A nominal fee is collected to cover
the cost of tennis balls.
Now, a Tennis Tip from our pro, Phil Hazelton. He notes that mistakes
in tennis are okay if you are playing with a sense of purpose. Be aware of
who you are playing against and their talent level. Notice what they can
do well, and what they don't do well. If you are missing a lot of your hits,
follow the golden rule: Go back to the basics — "Get the ball over the
net." And, as always, remember to keep your eye on the ball and the fun
in your game.
