18 18 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JUNE 2024 | | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JUNE 2024 | Happy Campers RV Club Hello campers and all who love adventure! Welcome to June. Hopefully the rain is behind us and beautiful summer weather ahead of us. June is a great time to head out to explore, especially the areas that are usually too cold to visit in the winter. June is also a time to go over your safety check list. Here are a couple good tips: Always check your tires for wear and pressure. It is recommended to check your tires once a month, if you are full-timers and to check before heading out each trip if not. Do this early morning, check the label inside your rig for the cold pressure reading. Don't forget your spare. Along with tire pressure, be sure to check your tire tread and the side walls for wear. Some of our rigs can sit out for long periods of time exposing the tires to the weather and they can develop cracks. Check all fire extinguishers. Make sure the operating instructions on the nameplate are legible and facing outward. Make sure the safety seal or tamper indicator is not broken or missing. Check the pressure gauge or indicator is in the operable range or position. It is recommended to have an extinguisher in the bedroom, basement, kitchen and within 24 inches of the entrance. It is also recommended to get an extinguisher with an A B C rating. We just returned from our second annual trip to Bonelli Bluffs and are looking forward to next year. We had a week of fantastic weather and great food, but the fellowship with such wonderful friends is what it's all about. Summer is the time most of our group are out on their own adventures and can't wait to hear all about them in the fall. We still have room in our coming trips for fall. East Coast Cruise out of New York Oct. 19-26 Coachella RV Resort Nov. 11-18 June first is our annual potluck right after the 10 am meeting and is a great way to come out and meet us. We meet the first Saturday of the month at 10 am in the Multipurpose Room at The Lodge. All are welcome, you don't need an RV to join us. Rent an RV, rent a cabin, hop on the cruise, there are lots of ways to begin your adventure!
