| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JUNE 2024 | 17 June Kindness Award: Helen Johnson asked that we recognize John Mitchell who lives in the Legends for his kindness. Helen and her husband frequently walk the Paseo in the early morning. They noticed John and his puppy were also out walking. What caught their attention was, in addition to enjoying a brisk morning walk with his dog, John also carried a towel and was drying the morning dew from the benches. This small kindness provides a dry seat for those who need a respite in their walk or want to enjoy the golf course view. Small kindnesses like this are what make our community such a wonderful place to live. Annual Health Fair: Once again Team Sunshine was excited to sponsor the Health & Senior Resource Fair and Barbeque on May 16 in The Lodge Ballroom. Free services included blood pressure checks, spinal exams, BMI calculation, vaccines and more. Pictures to follow in the July Herald. Team Sunshine Caregiver Support Meetings: Please note: The Caregiver Support group will not meet in July. Meetings will begin again August 7th. The group meets the first Wednesday of the month at 10:30 am at Suzanne and George McGowan's home (7747 Dutra Drive) and is facilitated by Chaplain Mark Ruybalid from VNAcare. For information, please call Suzanne at (831) 905-6203. Sunshine has been notified of the following passings, Laureen Walker, Donna Landino and Karen Stevens. We have reached out to these families to extend our condolences and offer our assistance if needed in planning a celebration of life. Team Sunshine is open to any Four Seasons resident and we invite you to join us at an upcoming meeting (first Monday of the month, 10:30 am in the Ballroom) to learn more. If you wish to talk with us, please feel free to call one of our Co-Chairs, Brenda Beers at (951) 306-6670 or Margie Culton at (951) 491-4058. We have amazing members of our Card and Telephone teams who are ready to provide a bit of sunshine in the form of a card or a phone call or to offer consoling words for those who have recently lost a loved one. If you have a friend or neighbor here in Four Seasons who is struggling with illness, loss or needs a bit of cheer, please notify us so we may send them a card and follow with a phone call. For those wishing prayer, a request box is provided in the Multipurpose Room for your convenience. Prayer cards are provided. If you are interested in joining the prayer group, please call Marietta Ruppaner, (714) 366-4278. Closing quote: "Cherish your human connections – your relationships with friends and family." – Barbara Bush Team Sunshine "With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!"
