FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2024 45 Starting out with sad news, we lost our dancer, Lynette Smilac (above), last month. Many of you know she was an active participant in many of our Four Seasons clubs, groups, and activities, including our line dance class. And you could always find her on the dance f loor at many of the dance events. "Lynette, I Hope You Dance." The month of May had us moving to Latin rhythms. We (line) danced to rhumba, merengue, cha, cha, bachata, and salsa. We practiced steps that can be done without a partner because we shouldn't have to just sit it out. Way to go dancers! On occasion I have been asked about a "very" beginners' class, so we are making an adjustment to a half hour of line dance basics. If you have wanted to join one of the dance groups but haven't because you're too shy, feel self-conscious, don't know the steps, or for any other reason, then this session may be for you. We will concentrate on dance step(s), terminology, and execution, as well as modifications that can be substituted. New Class Schedule: Tuesday (Country with Mix): 1:45 to 2:15 pm: Beginner Basics; 2:15 to 2:50 pm: Improvers; 2:50 to 3:30 pm: Intermediate Wednesday (Heart and Soul): 3:30 to 4 pm: Beginner Basics; 4 to 4:50 pm: Improvers; 4:50 to 5:30 pm: Intermediate/Advanced Looking ahead: 13th Annual Red, White & Blue Soul Line Dance Explosion on Saturday, July 6 from 1 to 5 pm. Complete registration details will be available in class. See you on the dance f loor! ~ Priscilla Robles, (909) 239-6464 Heart & Soul Line Dance Our Sunday, June 23 concert is approaching and we have something special and different for the Amphitheater. Are you ready to head for Broadway? Do you want to hear music from musicals like Hamilton, Wicked, Mama Mia, Rent, Funny Girl, Phantom of the Opera and others? Our wonderful evening will feature the band The Musies. This dynamic seven-piece group of singers and musicians will bring the magic of Broadway to our Amphitheater. Imagine sitting and enjoying Broadway come to life under the stars in our Amphitheater. The Musies will bring outstanding musical performances, costume changes and great choreography to help us have a special evening. So, head on down to Times Square and Broadway, (otherwise known as the Amphitheater). Do you have a favorite character? Don that costume! Maybe we will see a phantom or a witch … Mike and his team will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, and snacks to add to our evening. Remember that chairs can be set out after 6 pm the night before the concert. Please no blankets as placeholders. Glass must be in covers. See you all on Broadway Sunday evening! ~ Mark Lassen Amphitheater
