60 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2024
We hope that the cold, wet weather is finally behind us. Soon we
will be complaining about the weather being too hot. A great way
to start getting some fresh air, exercise and socialization is to come
out and play shuffleboard. We are still on our winter schedule, so we
meet every Monday and Saturday at 9 am on the shuffleboard courts
at The Lodge, which are located behind the swimming pool and next
to the paddle tennis courts. We enjoy our own quiet area in which
we play.
Shuffleboard is an easy game to learn and anyone can quickly
become proficient at this activity. Our games usually last about an
hour and we choose up different teams each time that we play. This
allows us to keep the competition challenging and the games more
interesting. We play for fun, but of course everyone likes to win. We
have no losers, only non-winners.
We have a great group of residents who play regularly, but we are
always looking for new players. So if anyone is interested in joining
a fun activity with lots of friendly people, please just show up on a
Monday and/or Saturday morning before 9 am. We will give you an
introduction to shuffleboard if you have never played before, or a
refresher, if needed.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
Otherwise, I hope to see you at the shuffleboard courts. ~ Marty

Move over Pickleball! Movin' Logs is the new, hot sport in 55+ communities. For the few
of you who haven't heard the rules, we pick two teams and stack logs as quickly as possible
… the largest stack (by width, depth, and height) at the end of three hours wins! The twist is
the Lumber Jacker — one member of each team runs to their opponents stack and jacks their
logs (sometimes from the bottom of the pile, causing it to collapse). It's great fun. We wood
love for you to join us Monday through Friday at 5 pm at The Summit. ~ Paul Bunion, (909)
