30 | THE COLONY NEWS | JUNE 2024 | In last month's issue of e Colony News, I told you a bit about what the Wine Club Board of Directors does to create our fun and interesting events. This month I want to tell you about ticket-selling — which all of you are aware of and have participated in. Tickets are printed, numbered, and brought to the Board members the day of the sales. Purchased tickets are cross-checked and recorded on the member roster. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, it's important to attend one of the ticket sale dates. If you cannot make it to the specific dates, you can have another club member purchase your ticket for you. Did you know that during ticket sales, you can also order those fancy name tags or even pick up a form for a friend who wants to join the Wine Club? Check it out! For our May 15 event, we welcomed Danza del Sol Winery. Our volunteer pourers served six different wines, and dinner was a tasty taco bar. As a benefit to all guests, Danza del Sol sold their wines at a discounted price. We look forward to welcoming Cougar Vineyard and Winery on June 19. This family-owned, boutique winery prides itself in producing quality handcrafted wine. Their story spans over 25 years and three different states. We will be tasting six different wines and enjoying a delicious Italian dinner. According to Benjamin Franklin, "Wine makes daily living easier." I would most definitely agree! If you are interested in joining the Wine Club, please give Sharon Evans a call at 951-445- 3861. Cheers! Wine Club By Valorie Hillerich Board members Alvie Kracik and Jeff Hillerich sell tickets for the upcoming Wine Club event. Wine club members toast to a beautiful day of wine tasting at Julie's Dream. e Wine Club Board of Directors enjoys wine at Julie's Dream Winery in Temecula. The Colony Singles celebrated the spring season at their April dinner with laughter and good friends. Each month, the Singles club dinner provides an opportunity to catch up on each other's lives, and this month didn't disappoint. It was wonderful hearing about the pleasurable cruises and trips that some of our dear friends had experienced since our last dinner. Along with the conversations and good company, there was a catered dinner of ham and sides and coconut cream pie for dessert, and all of which was enjoyed with a BYOB drink. The Colony's very own Doo Wops capped off the evening and brought the house down with their witty banter and marvelous sing-along song selections. The Colony Singles hosts a monthly dinner for single residents, giving them opportunity to visit with one another and make new friends. Since we meet in the Auditorium, we always have room for more tables, so if you are interested in joining us, please contact me at pfparra2@gmail.com for more information. Colony Singles Paula Parra
