| OHCC LIVING | JUNE 2024 | 33 Summer is getting busy in the Sewing, Etc. Room! Our classes (free to members) are in full swing with a balance of training and craing being offered. On Sat. June 1, "Making a Lovely Kimono" will be happening from 12 until 3 pm – you can sign up in the Sewing Room. en, our second "Beginning Quilting" set of four classes will begin on Fri., June 7 and continue each of the following three Fridays. ere are a few openings in the classes, but keep in mind that if you choose to sign up (clipboard is in the sewing room), you need to commit to all four classes. On Sat., June 15 we will have another "Meet the Machines/Tour of the Sewing Room," and an introduction to using our serger machines. e following urs. (June 20) you can learn to make "Loom Hats," a quick and clever class in knitting without needles! New to Sewing, Etc. - Coming in July, we will be offering a "quilting support" service. You can drop by with questions or problems, and someone will be there to help. is support service is going to be available from 9 to 11:30 am on Friday mornings and will continue as long as there is an interest. Our regular get-togethers remain in place as always. Our Kneedlers (knitters) and Hookers (crocheters) gather on Tuesdays from 3 to 4:30 pm and are always looking for excuses to practice their knitting and crocheting, and to offer guidance. Also, on Tuesday evenings (6 to 8 pm) and Fridays (12 to 3 pm) several quilters, knitters, crocheters and sewers get together for "Sew & Chats." Both of these gatherings are loosely structured and help to keep us in touch. We meet monthly on the first ursday in the Mykonos Room at 9:30 am (social time begins at 9:15 am), and if you're a member or just checking us out, please feel free to join us! Don't forget about our "rideshare" service to meetings and workshops that are held in our clubhouse.
