6 | LIFE IN SOLERA | JULY 2024 | Communications & Technology Advisory Committee (CTAC) The Solera Oak Valley Greens Board of Directors created the Communications & Technology Advisory Committee (CTAC) to research, develop, and improve existing and new communication methods for the community. To accomplish our goals, we are looking to modify current communication methods, if needed, as well as institute "state of the art" technological solutions in an effort to keep all residents informed. Hey there. May we have a moment of your time? Please read the following article while asking yourself "Solera is a safe community but is there something we can do to make it better?" Community security begins with quality Security Guards and user- friendly Visitor Access software. Currently, we are using Citiguard for security (as of May 6, 2024) and Gate Sentry as our visitor access software. Management reviews Gate Sentry reports which primarily include the number of vehicles granted access at various times during the day and the residents using the system. They also interface with security to assure staff are following post orders, the contracted tasks required of the guards. Since Citiguard came on board, there's been a noticeable increase in the report numbers, showing that our new security guards are using the access software regularly as required. Report review also shows that only 30 percent of residents use Gate Sentry. The remainder are split between residents that have accounts but are inactive and residents without an account. How can that be?? Management is looking deeper into it. But know, if residents are not using Gate Sentry, it takes longer for security to process guests and vendors at the gate. The guards are receiving calls from residents or making calls to residents before granting access. CTAC has been looking into other visitor access software companies; checking out Gate Sentry's main competitors. Technology has changed the landscape of visitor access software to include things such as license plate readers, AI facial recognition software, gate alarms, building access control, etc. It's not to say Solera needs or wants all of this but to know what is now available is worth exploring. So please, if you took time to ponder the question above and have something to share, please send a message to Management and let them know. Your input is important to us! We need to know! For additional information on the Committee, go to www. SoleraCTAC.com or join us at one of our meetings held on the first and third Monday of each month starting at 10 am in Oakmont III. You are welcome to attend. Also, you can go to the new "Committee Minutes" link on the Solera website to peruse minutes from CTAC meeting. ~ David Burke, Chairperson "Effective communication — a key ingredient in building trust and harmony."
