July is here and the weather has heated up. Our group has enjoyed many newfound projects to create with our monthly make 'n take ventures. This has been such a nice addition to our regular routine. We seem to be in a bit of a lull lately as to what to tackle next, but something will materialize! We'd like to thank Chuck and Teri Chapman for the massive donation of paper crafting supplies they contributed to our group last month. Those of us lucky enough to have been at our monthly meeting that day got to comb through the many supplies brought in for us to peruse. Our July luncheon will have three guests of honor to celebrate, as our June birthday girl had to postpone her celebration due to a conflict. It will be fun seeing three sets of birthday cards gifted to the birthday ladies. The luncheon will take place on Thurs., July 11 at 11:30 in the far end of the Restaurant. It's always such fun to get together for these birthday lunches. In addition to our July lunch, we will be meeting on the following Mondays: July 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 from 1 to 3 pm. The only exception is the second Monday, July 8, when we will meet from 11 am to 1 pm. Jot this down in your calendar or make a note in your phone. We convene in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Paper Crafting 28 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2024 | Fiber Artists The Fiber Arts Group welcomes all knitters, crocheters, and needleworkers to the North Clubhouse on Mondays at 12:30 pm, (except on the third Monday of the month, when we meet at 11:30 am. On the second Monday we share our extra yarn and supplies and on the last Monday of the month we share a potluck lunch. We are still making blankets for Kaiser Hospital in Fontana for terminally-ill adult patients and babies in the nursery, delivering them about four times a year. Sun Lakes Mudslingers Mudslingers ceramics group meets each Wednesday 3 to 6 pm and Friday 9 am to 12 pm. Class fees are $80 per month and include all you need to give it a try, clay, glazes and tools. The class is currently full, but if you are interested you can contact Camille at (951) 751-7151. Some beautiful crocheted tropical fish potholders. Some of our potters displayed work at a Wild West Days at Gilman Ranch in May.
