16 | THE COLONY NEWS | AUGUST 2024 | ACCESS CONTROL & SAFETY Security Statistics In June, there were a total of 21,589 gate entries recorded consisting of guests, recreational vehicles, vendors, and golfers. Allied Security performed 11 property/residence checks and issued 25 stop sign violations and 10 speeding citations. There were 21 medical, fire, and police incidents. Allied cited 59 residents for various resident parking violations and guest/vendor violations and 61 residents were cited for putting trash cans out too early and/or not putting them away. There were 45 garage doors found to be open and Allied made calls to each resident to advise them to close their garage doors. Allied also responded to 94 miscellaneous incidents related to deceased residents, dogs (barking, lost, off leash), guests on property without resident, signage (not allowed), solicitors, gate strikes/tailgaters, suspicious activity, trespassers, vehicle accidents, welfare checks, broken/burst water lines. The ACC is slowly performing another round of home inspections. An issue we are finding while looking at many homes is the dirt from the gutters running down the stucco. This can be remedied by cleaning the gutters and using a powerful nozzle to remove the dirt from the stucco. Another issue we have noticed regarding gutters is rust from the bolts that is running down the stucco. This will take a bit more effort to remove. While hanging Christmas lights one year, I noticed some of our bolts beginning to rust. I purchased a can of Rustoleum spray paint and gave them a splash of paint to stop further rust. Some homes still need painting. The committee is doing multiple checks of homes at various times of the day. We are also asking the office to check your file and let us know the last time the house was painted. A big thank you to all of you who are maintaining your home before a minor problem becomes a big and expensive problem! Overall, we believe The Colony has never looked so good and we should all be proud to live in such a beautiful community! ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL By Gloria Brosky
