Tennis Club In Memoriam Of Deanna Marshal: 7/15/1945 - 5/21/24 Deanna's wonderful life was cut short when she unexpectedly passed away on May 21, 2024. Deanna sadly leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Dan Marshall, her devoted family, and the pickleball community at Four Seasons. Deanna and Dan Marshall first lived in Long Beach. They then moved to San Diego where they stayed for almost 20 years. After moving to French Valley, they chose to make the move to Four Seasons, Hemet with all of the recreation facilities. Deanna was always involved in competitive sports. Deanna and Dan played competitive tennis before moving to the Four Seasons community. Deanna competed as a top B+ player, now known as a 4.0. Deanna and Dan quickly became involved with the recreational facilities at Four Seasons. Deanna expeditiously became a pickleball leader. Deanna became responsible for organizing the morning play times, ball ordering and the general inclination of the game. Deanna was responsible for a myriad of pickleball beginners to becoming advanced players. She would devote time on Saturday mornings to developing improved skills in interested players. She adapted the game from a senior recreational-only game to a competitive level game. Her family was always a part of her pickleball community. They have all succeeded in improving their game skills with Deanna's tutelage. One grandson has achieved a 4.5 level status (seen playing against Deanna and Dan in the photo). Her competitive spirit was evidenced in Dan's notation of the following. When playing pickleball against Dan, Deanna would always say, "it was an accident," when she hit him with the ball, followed by the biggest smile! Deanna's memory will always be with those who were lucky enough to have her as a friend and tutor. She lived life to the fullest. Healthy Living Healthy Living focuses on health-related printed materials that are shared with the class. As seniors, we need to be mindful of finding the "healthy road to travel." We are a support group and know that social interaction is also part of a healthy lifestyle. We meet every Wednesday at 9 am in the Bistro.
