The September meeting of the Four Seasons Opera Club will be in The Lodge Theater on
Friday, Sept. 13 at 6 pm. We will stream Puccini's La Bohème. The run time is 1 hr and 45
minutes. The opera is sung in Italian and there will be English subtitles. The recording we will
present is from the 1970 season of the Royal Opera/Covent Garden with Plácido Domingo and
Theresa Stratas.
The story line is very well known and has been adapted to the other arts as well. Recent
transplants have been Jonathan Larson's Rent and Bah Luhrman's Moulin Rouge.
The Opera Club website is up and running now and you can find more information about
La Bohème, prior offerings, and other learning and research opportunities there. A particular
treat on the La Bohème calendar page is a collection of eight great tenors singing "Che gellida
manina." For serious learners, please find a suggested first Wagner Ring Cycle there as well.

we focus on a particular work or several selections of one composer. We also discuss current musical performances in the area. We
