44 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2024 Let's Dance is changing it up. A new format adding more variety to our classes. Now our professional instruction will start at 6 pm and will include the "dance of the month" followed by a review and practice of a second style of dance and maybe a third. With the extended class time there will be two longer breaks to allow us to socialize. Bring a snack and your favorite beverage. In August, we learned the beautiful waltz, a graceful social dance. Waltz is a romantic, classic dance style moving in three- beat timing. It is easy to learn and acts as a springboard to other dances. This month is swing, a lively upbeat party dance that can be danced to music that is faster and rhythmic — from pop to country western to 50s classics. Swing originated in the Harlem jazz clubs in the 1920s and continues to be a favorite dance style today. We will be learning East Coast Swing. There is an easy to learn basic step pattern that is repeated throughout the dance. You will learn to add styling and turn variations to make it exciting and entertaining. Join us every Monday from 6 to 8 pm in The Lodge Ballroom. Check our Facebook page at "Let's Dance Four Seasons." For more information, please contact instructor Cindy Finley at ckatfine@aol.com or Jacque Sneddon at jacquesneddon@gmail. com. ~ Jacque Sneddon Let's Dance! July's Karaoke featured Folk Music. Everyone chose some great songs. Each month, we feature a specific theme or style of music. Last month at The Lodge pool featured summer songs and Hot August Night songs from Neil Diamond. September will feature songs from the "British Invasion" (think The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Animals, the Dave Clark Five band, and others). Start time has changed from 5:30 to 5 pm to allow for more singers, so grab some dinner from the new Bistro and come out to watch the show. ~ Dave Rohrbacker, Dave.Rohrbacker@ icloud.com Karaoke Once again, we're stepping back in time to play the hits from the 1980s. We enjoy singles like Michael Jackson songs including Beat It, riller, and Billie Jean, and artists like Prince, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Earth, Wind and Fire, and Olivia Newton-John as she sang Let's Get Physical. You can always count on our residents here at the Four Seasons to get down on the dance f loor. They are always moving and having fun. We welcome everyone who loves to dance. Join Jan White, Connie, Bower, and Linda Steer who are having a blast! We meet on the fourth Thursday of every month from 3 to 5 pm. This club is also about history and was formed with the records that built an entire nation. For information, call (951) 550-3453 or email willaharris89@gmail.com.
