54 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2024 Memories of summer … and the third annual Four Seasons Pickleball Club pool party. There were freshly barbecued burgers and hot dogs, thanks to the grilling skills of Barry Ginnetti (photo above left, standing at left), Jesse Aceves (seated, right), and Jimmy Conner (in the pool at photo time!). A potluck rounded out the good food to be had at this fun event, which was free to club members. As it was a hot day, most folks took to the water with their drinks, hats, sunglasses, and pool noodles to relax, chat, and cool off. And yes, there were shenanigans! About membership in the Pickleball Club: no new members are accepted in November and December, but if you join us in September or October, the yearly membership fee of $25 is pro- rated to just $15. Membership allows you to use club equipment (like the ball machine, practice balls, and ball picker-upper), and offsets or cancels out some tournament/event fees, like the pool party, in-house tournaments, and the yearly Christmas party (which this year is Sunday, Dec. 15). Dues also help pay for the pickleballs provided for everyone on the courts, equipment (like brooms, squeegees, etc.), and some of the various medals and prizes to be won at tournaments. Now is the time to join. Come out to the courts most mornings before 10 am, where you can talk with club members for more information. Our ping pong room is often like a United Nations meeting place with players from all over the world. We have players from Ethiopia, Mexico, Taiwan, Singapore, China, Korea, and other countries. No matter where you were born, you are welcome to play ping pong with us. We play Mondays through Saturdays from 2 to 4 pm. Come join us at The Courts.
