This is the perspective of the Artist of the
Month, Laurie Wolfenden. I am delighted to be
the featured artist this month. I have experimented with art
for as long as I can remember. Mixed media is a wonderful
opportunity to mix in whatever way you wish. For me, I love
color and I love texture. Creating the illusion of subjects is
quite thrilling for me. We were asked to create something that
suggested a circus theme. I am not really fond of the circus, but
I love people and their stories, so here is my interpretation (at
right). Painting is an opportunity for me to think about how to
portray an image. It is as individual as the person painting and
it is a lot of fun. Anyone can join and play with us regardless
of having any previous experience or having none. Come see
what you can create.
