QUILTERS
Every year the Solera Quilters participate in a group challenge.
The challenge is different every year, and we have one year to
complete it. In the past these challenges have been based on a
theme, a color combination or a shape. This year the challenge
was to make something for another quilter. We all filled out index
cards with three of our favorite colors, then we drew names to see
whose card each of us got. With those three colors, we had to make
either a table runner, pillow cover, or wall hanging. Of course, we
had to keep the name we drew secret. On Sept. 16, we presented our
accomplishments to that secret recipient (photo above). Everyone
was thrilled to find out who had drawn their name and what
beautiful object they had made. We were all so happy with our gifts.
And with all these talented quilters, there wasn't a clunker in the
bunch! It was exciting to see what everyone came up with. Now we
have another challenge for next year. Thanks to our leader Linda
DiGiovanni for thinking up these great ideas.
