32 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2024 | ICC Dinner Dance Club The next ICC Dinner/Dance is Thurs., Oct. 10 in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Doors open at 4:45 pm. What a pleasant evening we had at our last dinner dance. There was so much excitement buzzing through the Ballroom. Many members enjoyed an evening of fun and relaxation. Ann Hoefert announced that Evelyn Hawkins has retired, and she will step in to replace Evelyn until the December election. We welcomed new member, Mary Stark and visitors, Robert and Janet Stoler. Dues from now through December will be $12.50. Join us! Sunset Purple will be our musicians for our next dance. We will have a Hawaiian theme and should have a very lovely evening. Rene Riviera gives lessons at 4:45 pm, prior to dinner. We had an extra treat at the dance — during the band break, he demonstrated John Travolta's Saturday Night Fever, the hustle line dance. He encouraged all of us to get up and join in. Dancing is so much fun when one is enjoying, rather than worrying about how they look or if they are doing it right. Thank you also to the staff for the great service and meal. Each month we celebrate birthdays and anniversaries — see photos below. The 50/50 drawing winners were Dan Hoefert, Lana Moscarro, Margie Strobelt, and Gino DeMonaco. Sign-ups for the dinner and dance are held on the first Thursday of every month beginning at 4 pm at the South Clubhouse. Meal selection is made when you sign up. The three-course dinner price for members is $30 and $32 for guests. Doors open for lessons at 4:45 pm, dinner and dance at 5:30 pm. Give yourself a gift — join us for a night of fun, food and relaxation. A "try before you buy" opportunity is available for Sun Lakes residents who have not been members in the past. If you miss signing up, contact Donna Leone at (951) 797-0832, however Donna will be on vacation during sign ups this month, so contact Ann Hoefert at (909) 553-3292 no later than the following Sunday afternoon. If you are unable to attend the event after signing up, you can request a take-out meal box. Contact Ann Hoefert no later than 2 pm on the day of the event and she will plan for you to pick up your meal in the Bus Room at 7 pm on the night of the event. For more info about ICC, contact Ann Hoefert at (909) 553-3292 or Donna Leon at (951) 797-0832. Country Western Dance After a three month summer break, line dance lessons resumed on Sept. 23. If you missed that first session, don't worry. The first few lessons are very basic and allow new dancers to learn such favorites as the Electric Slide. The first lesson is free, so you have nothing to lose. Our club meets every Monday from 6:30 to 8 pm in the South Clubhouse. During each lesson, we review the dances we learned in previous sessions, and learn one or two new dances. Dues are $20 per year and $3 per class per person. Come join this fun group and learn how to do the Boot Scootin' Boogie and many other classic line dances. It's good exercise for your body and your mind. We have a wonderful instructor who has taught this class for eight years and knows how to pace the lessons for our age group. For membership information, contact Judy Kirstein at (801) 580-2232 or Mary Ann Ivey at (951) 769-1095. Rene teaching the Hustle Ken and Michele Clark celebrated their 38th anniversary Birthdays were celebrated by Dick Caron, Susan Chou, JoAnn O'Nell, Diana Wee, Bonnie Devine, and Jon Coster
