October is finally here; hope the month brings you nothing but treats. Fall has finally fallen and cooler days are ahead. Nature is painting in all her brilliant hues; perhaps you'd like to try it too. The Art League's next meeting is Sun., Oct. 13 at 2 pm in the North Clubhouse. This month we will feature accomplished watercolor artist, Suni Godbold, who will demonstrate her techniques and talents. You can sign up at that time to take her three-session watercolor class. A huge thank you to all Art League members and family/friends who helped to make September's Art Walk a big success! This is an undertaking that only a family can pull off. From moving art and easels to set-up and take-down, we couldn't do it without your help. Our many member artists displayed wonderful art works for the entire community to enjoy. Some items were sold and many original pieces were raffled off to guests. A quick look back … I'd like to recognize our August winners of the Mini-Art-Show (photo at right): 1st place, Frank Bonarigo with charming, colorful carousel horses rendered in acrylic; 2nd place, Shirley Anderson with a lovely little cottage set in a beautiful landscape, acrylic; and 3rd place, Mary Chepovsky with a bright but calming beach at sunset, acrylic.
