We thank you and we celebrate you." ~ Linda Santana Salute To Veterans 2024 continues a year-long outreach to our veteran community to bring renewed awareness to the ongoing veterans events leading up to Salute To Veterans 2024 this November. It's been five years since The Colony has held a Veterans Day celebration to honor our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much to serve our country and preserve our freedom. The "first-ever" events began with a FREE! Veterans Happy Hour, February 2024, then a FREE! Veterans Pinning Ceremony, June 2024, followed by a FREE! Widows of Veterans Continental Breakfast, July 2024. The most recent event held was the FREE! Veterans and Guest Happy Hour, September 2024. Veterans from WWII, Korea and Vietnam were in attendance. Some 45 veterans and their guests representing the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard stood for a round of applause and "raise a glass" in support of their brothers in arms. The sponsors, Right at Home Care, Brookdale Assisted Living and Living Waters Hospice were on hand to provide delicious appetizers and lots of FREE Beer! "From the beginning our sponsors have answered the call to help us make these FREE events possible for our beloved veterans and their families." Salute To Veterans 2024 will be held on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2024. Doors open at 4:30 pm. Program begins 5 pm. Sit-down dinner, 6:30 pm. Dancing to Persuasions Orchestra, 8 pm. Tickets may be purchased online via The Colony Box Office. Please see flyers in the Clubhouse for additional event information. PLEASE NOTE: This is a "dressy" event in honor of our veterans and military personnel in attendance, your choice of semi-formal or formal wear.
