This year seems to have gone by even more quickly than usual, and it's time again to make reservations for the 2025 year. Forms for each type of event and activity will be available online and outside my office and will be accepted between Oct. 1 and 15. EVERY GROUP MUST SUBMIT RESERVATION FORMS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE 2025 ACTIVITIES CALENDAR. Salvation Army Donation Drop-Off Saturday, Oct. 5, 9 am to 1 pm. Join us at Clubhouse parking lot for this wonderful opportunity of giving to neighbors in communities near and far by donating items you no longer need. The Salvation Army accepts a wide range of items including clothing, shoes, accessories, housewares, small furniture, tools, books and more! For more information about the event, or if you have any questions about what items can be donated, please contact Pennie Mitten, Donations Coordinator, at (602) 501-8405. Additionally, for a complete list of items that are accepted, you can scan the QR code provided on the flyer. Note: Please ensure all donated items are in good condition and suitable for use. Healthy Aging & Dementia Prevention Tuesday, Oct. 8, 10 am, Auditorium. Dr. Michael Ropacki will be giving a presentation on healthy aging and dementia prevention. Dr. Susan Ropacki and Dr. Michael Ropacki founded Esperanza Clinical in Murrieta and are international experts in dementia prevention and Alzheimer's disease. They have spent over 20 years conducting clinical research and are passionate about finding innovative treatments to slow cognitive decline and a cure for Alzheimer's disease. The Colony Health & Safety Fair Friday, Oct. 18, 10 am to 1 pm, Clubhouse, Free. Mark your calendar for this very popular annual event. There will be flu shots, and lots of goodies are always available from the vendors. Classic Buzz Saturday, Oct. 26, 6:30 pm, Auditorium. Don't delay, these tickets are in demand and will sell out. Playing rock and roll classics from the 60s, 70s and mostly the 80s, and led by front man Joey Molina, Rick Lake on keyboard and guitar, Dave Grube on electric guitar, Steve Payne on bass and Michael Aguilar on drums, they are reviving a tired genre of music and giving it a whole new look. Their forte would be the music of Journey, GNR, AC/DC and all the greats from those decades. Tickets are $12 per person with open Auditorium seating. The dance floor will be open to bust a move! HALLOWEEN PARTY ursday, Oct. 31, 7 pm, in the Auditorium, FREE. Grab the mic and don't be shy, it's Rock 'n Roll Halloween night — oh my! Dance and sing, give it your best, and be surprised by our mystery guest. The performers are a surprise, but we can drop a few hints. In the shadows of the Clubhouse, they've been rehearsing away, bringing Colony energy to every chord they play. With grit and passion, they're ready to ignite, this local garage band will rock your Halloween night. From the 50s to the 80s, you'll hear great sounds; you'll know the songs and harmony abounds. Their voices blend like a ghostly dream; these doo-wop crooners will make you scream. Can you guess who'll take the stage? Join us for a night of thrills, chills, and unforgettable fun at our Halloween Party. Costumes encouraged! HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE Saturday, Nov. 9, time TBD. Discover some unique, handcrafted treasures at our Holiday Boutique! From handmade jewelry and pottery to custom paintings and woodwork, there's something for everyone. Meet talented Colony artisans and find one-of-a-kind gifts. Support local talent and take home a piece of handmade art. Don't miss out on this creative celebration! SALUTE TO VETERANS 2024 Event Monday, Nov. 11. We are preparing now to honor all veterans, past and present, for the 2024 Veterans Day Ball. If you are interested in joining the SALUTE TO VETERANS 2024 Committee, please call Linda Santana at 661-492-1799 or email lindajsantana@yahoo.com. BEACH BOYS Saturday, Nov. 16. Auditorium doors open at 6:30 pm and the show starts at 7 pm. This is the most authentic- sounding Beach Boys tribute band today. With five different singers, they are able to capture the vocal nuances of the generation. They also feature the three-guitar approach that is necessary to truly recreate their unique blend of country and rock. Tickets are $15 per person. DEAN MARTIN & MARILYN MONROE Saturday, Nov. 23. Auditorium doors open at 6:30 pm and the show starts at 7 pm. Two of the best in the business pair up to bring us the concert event of all time — Marilyn Monroe and Dean Martin together on stage. From such well-known songs as at's Amore, Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime, I Wanna be Loved by You, Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend, and a charming rendition of Baby It's Cold Outside, this pair will take you back to the days of Vegas in the 1950s. Sharing stories and anecdotes about two of the world's most famous icons, their performance will bring Marilyn and Dean to life in both story and song. Tickets are $17 per person.
