Let us embark, On a journey through history & time, where heroes spark. From World War II, where the world was ablaze, To Korea at heart break ridge, From Vietnam's jungles, where courage amaze. And the war that began with towers that fell, We honor their valor, their stories we tell. In the depths of despair, a world at war, Heroes emerged, with hearts pure and raw. World War II unleashed its wrath and might, But amidst the chaos, soldiers stood to fight. From the beaches of Normandy to the pacific shore, They battled for freedom, forevermore. Across the European landscape, they marched, Through blood-soaked fields, where hope was parched. From the skies above, the Allied forces flew, With wings of bravery, their mission they pursue. In the face of tyranny, they held steadfast, Their sacrifices, a testament that forever will last. Along came Korea, a war of great toll, Where heroes fought bravely on unfamiliar ground. In the mountains and valleys, they stood strong, In the heart of battle, where they belonged. From Heartbreak Ridge to the Chosin Reservoir, They fought for freedom, in a brutal war. Then came Vietnam, a conflict so profound, Where heroes fought bravely on unfamiliar ground. In the dense jungles, they faced the unknown, With courage in their hearts, their spirits shone. From the Mekong Delta to the Ho Chi Minh trail, They fought for their comrades, they would never fail. Amidst the chaos and the political strife, They fought for freedom, risking their life. Through the haze of war, they stood tall, Their resolve unyielding, ready to give their all. From the Tet Offensive to the Battle of Hamburger Hill, Their valor and sacrifice, forever instilled. And then, the war that began with a tragic day, When towers fell, and innocence was swept away. On September 11th, 2001, the world stood still, As heroes emerged, with an unwavering will. They rushed into danger, without hesitation, To save lives and protect, Their noble dedication. From the rubble of destruction, they rose, Rescuing the wounded, amidst the chaos that froze. In the aftermath of 9/11, a nation united, Facing adversity, their spirit ignited. In Iraq and Afghanistan, they fought with might, To bring justice and freedom, in the darkest night. Through the deserts scorched, they pressed on, Their resilience and bravery, forever drawn. From Fallujah to Kandahar, they stood strong, In the pursuit of peace, they marched along. Their sacrifices, immense and profound, Their service to the nation, forever renowned. So let us remember, with utmost awe, The heroes of World War II, Vietnam, and more. The battles of old to the towers that fell, Their stories of courage, we must forever tell. For their bravery and valor, we stand in respect, Their sacrifices, we will never neglect. To the veterans who fought, our eternal praise, In their honor, we'll forever raise. In the hallowed glow of dawn's first light, A hero returns from a harrowing fight, From Vietnam's jungles, he emerges strong, His spirit unbroken, his will to belong. Through trials and tribulations, he bravely trod, Yet met with disdain on his own native sod. Unwelcomed he stood, in the land he loved true, Treated as an outcast, by a misguided few. But now, in this moment, we right that wrong, With a chorus of gratitude, a symphony of song. For his sacrifices made, his valor unseen, We welcome him back with hearts pure and keen. A hero, a warrior, a beacon of light, Who fought for justice, in darkness of night. His deeds may be buried, in the sands of time, But in our hearts, his legacy will forever shine. So let the cheers resound, let the banners wave tall, As we honor our veterans, who answered the call. Their courage unyielding, their sacrifices great, In their presence, we humbly stand, in awe-struck state. Welcome home, dear warrior, to a home finally kind, Where your bravery and valor, again we find.
