| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | NOVEMBER 2024 | 27 October's Play, Savannah Sipping Society Cast Tell About eir Experience Sandy Tin: "Last year when I made the commitment to direct the Savannah Sipping Society, I had no idea what an exciting challenge it would be. I now know that it is much easier to be "IN" a play, than to "DIRECT" one! Being "IN" a play requires you to only worry about your own character's role. "DIRECTING" requires that you know every character's role. I was happy to have the opportunity to direct four very talented women whose dedication and commitment brought this play to life on our stage." Victoria Danner: "As my final performance with 4SP – I was honored to be cast as Randa. Our life stories are very similar: passionate career girl who (sometimes annoyingly) believes in following the rules. Still, if you can see through the hard-straight lines, she wants everyone to have fun - and most of all enjoys new experiences mixed with new (and old) friends. Now, if we had a Sequel, picture this: Randa's Rescue Veranda – her new family of 10 rescue pups and kittens, lounging on the porch of their forever home – playfully jumping all over Dot and Marlafaye and Jinx." Alice Gilbert: "I was kind of volunteered when it became necessary to fill an open spot. My character Jinx, described as "energetic, self- confident and gregarious," was at first challenging, so not me. Once I accepted that I was to be "acting" the part of this complicated woman, things began to flow. Acting with the cast made playing Jinx easier and a whole lot of fun. The ladies gave great feedback, allowing each of us to grow in the process. Participating in my first play allowed me to see how much we all have in common." Noreen Scott: "As Dot, I had a great experience being part of this production. It was an experience I will never forget. Working together with such a great team of talented actors and an experienced director was most rewarding. Aside from the actual performance, it was a joy engaging with some people who at first were like strangers, but in the end turned out to be good friends. Our rehearsals were not just work times, but often fun times where we laughed, enjoying cookies and tea together. These people are friends now; they can be yours too by joining 4SP." Sandra Lubbers Garces: "Playing Marlafaye was a delight. I completely identified with her zest for life, her willingness to say what needs to be said, not always in the most tactful way. She loves her Bourbon, a fine trait with which I can identify. She's a brash, earthy, loud Texan comfortable in her skin. I love her tenacity and resilience. Rather than allowing a serious blow in her life to define her, she opens herself up to friendship. Her burning desire for revenge was done with great determination and humor. Definitely my kind of gal – I'd welcome sharing a fine Bourbon with her any day!"
