| THE COLONY NEWS | DECEMBER 2024 | 31 Our league stats are as of Oct 31. The week of Nov. 7 has not been posted for this magazine issue. Picture #1 (above left) is our first-place team with a 26-10 record. Pictured left to right: Sheila Spradling, Sue Riccardi, Dottie Hodson. Not shown is Sue Pawlowski. Picture #2 (above center) are the league's best Men's averages. Pictured left to right: Jay Schodrowski at 164.56, Rick Gundo at 170.17 and Hank Fleischer at 176.04. Picture #3 (above right) are the league's best Women's averages, left to right: Jerry Hanson at 173.29, Gloria Fleischer at 141.37, and Carol Hitchcock at 142.5. The most improved Men's bowlers so far are Steve Tiplitsky +7.37 pins, Dave Sisson +7.15 pins and Tony Johnson +4.67. On the Women's side: Linda Pineiro +15.19, Sheila Spradling +11.67 and Sue Riccardi +7.3. Congratulations to Rick Gundo! He had what we are all calling the "Gundo 300." He finished his second game with five strikes in a row and then started his third game with seven in a row! Pretty hard to get 12 strikes in a row at any time. Good job! We do have some very good bowlers. These are a few of the high Scratch games so far this year by Men and Women: Hank Fleischer with 253, Rick Gundo with 236, Joe Roux with 225, Jay Schodrowski with 211, Dave Polizzi with 209, Jerry Janson with 221, Charlene Lusk with 190, Donna Kennedy with 190, Gloria Fleischer with 189, and Virginia Vasko with 181. Our October dinner was at the Sizzler restaurant. A great time was had by all. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Bowling Hank Fleischer, 714-272-3684 November's paddle tournament brought us a lot of winners! One player stood out in the ladies division and that was none other than the talented Colleen Ray. The men's group was a little more complicated with the three-way tie of Bruce Ray, Tom McClure and Scott Daniels. Congratulations to all our winners! These tournaments occur monthly, and are a time to have some fun competition or to mingle with friends and enjoy our breakfast table. They are held on the first Friday of every month. Plan to join us for the next one! The Racquet Club has many activities under its umbrella. Not only are tennis and paddle tournaments offered, but there is also a monthly ladies potluck for players and their friends, social play at the courts in the mornings, and group dinners are available to members. To learn more about the Racquet Club and its activities, call me at 619-550-8194. Our membership dues are $10 per year. Why not be a part of the fun? Hope to see you on the courts!
