It produced a ghoulish decorated tunnel displaying a collage of lights and views: electric chair with Dexter, Frankenstein's laboooratory, and BeetleJuice. Many thanks to co-chairpersons, Irene Chapman and Judi Lewis and their cadre of volunteers with their boundless, twisted imagination. We danced to the vibrant sounds of the Four Seasons Band and witnessed great costumes: witches, pirates, cops, inmates, angels, goblins, and Cruella de Vil. There was ZZ Top jamming on the dance f loor, a pickle ball racquet smacking a ball, Popeye dancing with Olive Oyl, and a Charmin couple. It was a fun evening that would make the grandkids shake their heads with jealousy and embarrassment. New Year Eve Celebration: I have a black eye patch, a hat with corn curls, and a single gold earring and I will be celebrating the New Year at Four Seasons premier social event – this year it is a Pirate Ball. See you in the Ballroom on Dec. 31! It always amazes me (and it shouldn't) the talent, experience, and credentialed residents that make up the Four Seasons community. Our third newest member on the Social Committee, Patricia (Pat) Scully, is one of these residents. Pat relocated to Palm Desert 40+ years ago and witnessed first-hand the growth that has taken place in the Coachella Valley. Initially starting as Office Manager in Palm Springs schools, she graduated to working more than 20 years for the City of Palm Desert in all aspects of City administered events such as Springfest, summer concerts and movies, Fourth of July Celebration, Veterans Day, volunteer recognition events, Civic Arts Committee Historical Society and a myriad of other sponsored events. For nine years she served on the legislative staff of Mary Bono and found her time spent between Washington, D.C., Sacramento, and Palm Springs. In this capacity, Pat was responsible for organizing staff activities, Town Halls, and other constituent activities. More recently, Pat has been an advisor to legislative staffs organizing and producing events for local State Assembly election committees. Possessing a Master's Degree in Event Planning and Management from Purdue University, she has participated and organized Super Bowl activities in New Orleans, the Sun Bowl in El Paso, and other bowl games. Please join me in welcoming Pat. Her experience is what we in the Social Committee can learn from and can benefit our community. Santa is coming! Santa is coming to the Hometown Holiday on Dec. 14 from 2 to 5 pm. This event commences the holiday season at Four Seasons. Get your picture taken with Santa and his helpers. Fill up with cotton candy, popcorn, gingerbread cookies, and holiday treated cookies and cupcakes. Visit with this year's special guests, "reindeers-in-training." The golf cart parade follows Hometown Holiday, and completes itself with a special presentation of the Village Voices in the Ballroom.
