How Many Athletes has Sun City Civic Association Produced? At the OldLympic Awards banquet on Oct. 8, a familiar face in the form of the President of Sun City Chair Volleyball Club appeared on the medal podium, which made me feel extremely honored as a Sun City resident. After three years of searching, my husband and I finally bought a house in Sun City last August. We became a member of SCCA, joined the Chair Volleyball Club, and spend every day in happiness. It turns out that I thought our life after the age of 60 was just an ordinary and stable life. I didn't expect that Sun City would give my husband and me so many opportunities to show off our artistic talents, pursue our sports dreams, and cultivate our Olympic spirit. I'm very grateful to SCCA for creating such a good environment for the residents here and attracting many surrounding sports-loving people to join us in various clubs in Sun City. The athletes in this picture range from those born in the 1930s to those born in the 1960s. The most admirable is Micky. She won two medals in the 5,000-meter walk and the 1,500-meter walk after walking nearly 17 laps of the 400-meter track in one morning. Thanks very much, Micky, for setting an example for me. Thanks very much, Sun City Civic Association, for all that you do for the clubs. ~ Annie Kong Shueboard Sun City Slammers Chair Volleyball Athletes names in the picture (L-R): Joe Zhou, Pat, Dena, Rose, Janet, Micky, Annie Kong, and Suzy.
