10 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2025 |
The Pass Action Group held a Town Hall in November and more
than 200 supporters attended to hear our status.
The Board of Directors spoke about our victory in stopping the
Banning Point project. It was explained to attendees and broadcast
on channel 97 what the developers' options are. The developers do
have until Jan. 6, 2025, to file a suit in Superior Court. Should they
choose to do so their action would be against the City of Banning
and the P.A.G. would not be a party to this. Our attorneys would
monitor the case closely for our prottection.
The current situation means that for the time being our work is
done. The Board of Directors will monitor any proceedings for our
protection. We do not plan to meet regularly as we have for the last
three years. At this time, we will pause active fundraising including
our online portal at givebutter.com
In addition to the information that was provided, Ms. Dorrie
Gartzke was honored with a certificate and f lowers as the "Person of
the Year" for her implementation of her recycle program that raised
over $30,000.
We would like to thank the Lifestyles Committee for publishing
our article each month. This was a tremendous asset in keeping
the Sun Lakes community informed. This will be the last regularly-
scheduled article.
We coined the mantra, "It takes a Community to Save The
Community." Well, now it is, "It TOOK a Community to Save the
Community!"
