28 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2025 Social Committee We have a new member! Alice Daugherty – Alice graduated from the University of Florida. Afterwards, she moved back to her birth state of Rhode Island for the first of many teaching positions. Her second summer there, on a lark, she went camping with a girlfriend to Niagara Falls and met her husband. Marvin was camping next to them. They were married the following year, now 51 years ago. They moved quite a bit while Marvin worked toward his doctorate. Alice then moved to North Carolina, where she worked in the Senior Services Department of Social Services. She worked with the Children's Foster Care/Adoption Department doing home studies and individual children's studies. She had the gratifying job of child/baby placement. A teaching position opened where she taught until her retirement 17 years later. Marvin and Alice raised, and college educated, three sons who are now married with five grandchildren. Before moving to Four Seasons, Alice was active in her church helping to raise money for non-profit organizations. Traveling is in their blood! Since moving to Four Seasons, they have been able to take advantage of many of the group tours that are offered by our Travel Club including the Pageant of the Masters, San Diego the Italian area, Sedona, Arizona, and the tour of the Famous homes in Palm Springs. They also celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by taking a Disney Cruise to Alaska. We hope you enjoyed the comedy event and came away with a smile on your face and laughter in your heart! The next event will be the Ladies Fashion Show, "Summertime Garden." On June 7, doors will open at 11:15 am, lunch will be served at 11:45 am, and the fashion show starts at 1 pm. Table seating will be assigned. Models will be wearing clothes from Jaci Johnson, Independent "cabi" Personal Stylist and from Shannon Burns, owner of Lush Layne. So, save the date! Ticket sales begin Tuesday, May 6 from 9 to 11 am in The Lodge Ballroom. Afterwards, tickets can be purchased at The Lodge front desk. We share a special "Thank You" to Tanya Stewart and Linda Federoff for their years of volunteering on the Social Committee. With their creativity and talent they were great assets to the committee. They will be missed! ~ Lisa Johnson, lisajohnson710@ gmail.com The purpose of a Community Planning Committee initiative begun in 2024 is "To ensure that Four Seasons remain a premier resort-style community." Phase 1 of this initiative is to "track trends in Southern California 55+ communities including Four Seasons Beaumont." As we celebrate Four Seasons 20th anniversary, the committee seeks information that will help inform us of and quantify the usage of our many facilities and determine the participation levels of our groups, clubs, and activities. The information we receive will be used by our Board of Directors, management staff, and committees to develop sound and information-based plans for our future. The results of this survey will be published to the community in April 2025. Please complete the questionnaire by March 18, 2025 so that we can compute and analyze the findings in a timely manner. Print questionnaires will be available in The Lodge, The Summit, and The Courts as well as available electronically in the Daily Report. Thank you for supporting this Community Planning Committee initiative! ~ Jane Hopper, janehooper@yahoo.com Community Planning
