Great news! For those of you who are unsure of the benefits to
your dog joining the Canine Corral, the committee has instituted a
free trial for you and your pet. You simply contact one of us and we
can set a mutually acceptable time to meet at the Corral with your
dog and ours. This would be outside of our regularly scheduled play
times. You would get the opportunity to see the Corral from the
inside and your pet would get the experience of running free and
playing with another dog.
Even better news! Now that most of the improvements to the
Corral have been completed, we can reduce the fees to join. Your
initial fee will be just $25. This covers the cost of your fob and
administrative fees. You will still need to complete the application
packet (available in The Lodge) and provide documentation of all
shots including rabies, neutering, city license, and insurance. These
are required to be sure all dogs using the Corral are fully protected
from the most common diseases for pets. Yearly renewal fee will
be $10.
You will be amazed at how happy the dogs are to run off-leash
and how well they all get along. If your pet has a favorite toy, bring
it along for them to chase or catch.
One more thing, no treats are allowed during group play. A lot of
the dogs are "treat hogs" and follow the treat person around instead
of playing. Other dogs are on restricted or special diets and cannot
have any. If you are by yourself training or playing, treats are OK,
just be sure not to leave any behind to attract wild critters.
