| SUN CITY CORE COURIER | APRIL 2025 | 13 The Woodshop would like to thank Robert and Esther Van Zamp (below) for their generous donation of kitchen cabinet doors, glass inserts, and drawer parts. Donations of some varieties of wood, tools, woodworking books, sandpaper, and other items are always welcome and appreciated. Donations are sometimes sold for a small profit that helps with the cost of supplies needed at the woodshop. Thank you in advance for any donations made. Woodshop Group Veterans Honored by Quilting Club Eleven veterans from five branches of service were honored on February 1st by the Quilting Club's Quilts of Valor chapter along with another chapter located in Perris. The veterans served in our armed forces from the Korean War up to the present. The award ceremony took place in Webb Hall on a special day for the quilters. On the first Saturday in February each year, Quilts of Valor members gather to sew in large groups. All the activity of cutting, pressing, and sewing together creates a bond that we enjoy. We are humbled by the sacrifices of our military and want to honor them. Do you know a veteran who has been touched by war that you would like recognized? Go to the Quilts of Valor website and complete a nomination form: www.qovf.org. ~ Rose Rhoads, President Quilting Club
