| SUN CITY CORE COURIER | MAY 2025 | 15 Chair Volleyball In March, the Sun City Chair Volleyball Club tournament was sponsored by JP Nolan Insurance Services. Johathan Nolan and his team arrived early morning on campus to set up the registration table to get things started. Several different communities participated including seniors from the Menifee Oasis community, La Sierra and the Goeske Center from Riverside, Canyon Lake, and the Pala Band of Mission Indians from Pala. At the beginning, we pledged allegiance to our flag, bowed our heads, and honored the memories of players whose spirits are still with us. Two divisions competed, and many spectators had fun watching the camaraderie of players come together to promote the sport of chair volleyball. It was a time of great laughter and enjoyment. The Sun City teams did well with Gold and Bronze in Division 1. In Division 2, there were nine teams competing. Sun City had two teams that entered. There was tough competition and exciting games, but our teams were tenacious, and one took second place with Silver medals while the other team won several rounds and achieved a runner-up award. It was a proud day for the Sun City Slammers! Sun City Shufflers Seek Members The Sun City Shufflers ended the 2024-2025 season in second place.
