At our recent meeting, we invited resident Karen Brandt, an award-winning quilter, to do a Trunk Show. What a treat! It was very hard to choose one to share with you. You can't see a stitch with her amazing applique needle turn. Famous quilter Karen McTavish quilts her quilts. Come and join us — we have fun and love to learn and inspire each other. It's such a beautiful time of year and spring is in the air! Many of us have been working individually on spring projects, but we haven't really been doing one project all together. There were just too many cute options, and we ended up each f lying solo last month. Sometimes, we do that. Several of the gals in our group volunteered to help out with the Garden Club's See's Candy sale, held before Easter last month, by decorating the See's suckers with cute rabbit ears and ribbons. I knew they would be a big hit. Mother's Day is May 11, which presents another opportunity to create some gorgeous cards to be given to our daughters, daughters- in-law, our own Mom's, if we are lucky enough to still have ours around. It's also a good time to reach out to any special women in our lives who we would love to honor on this wonderful holiday. Happy Mother's Day to all of you beautiful ladies. We meet weekly on Mondays from 1 to 3 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. On the second Monday of the month, the time changes to 11 am to 1 pm. In May, we meet May 5, 19, and 26, from 1 to 3 pm, with the May 12 meeting taking place from 11 am to 1 pm. May 26 is Memorial Day, but we usually go ahead and have our meeting for those who will be around to attend. If this changes, you will be notified. The second Thursday of the month is our birthday luncheon, which will take place on May 8 at 11:30 am in our Main Clubhouse Restaurant. Paper Crafting 24 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2025 | Fiber Artists Our club meets every Monday in the North Clubhouse at 12:30 pm except on the third Monday of the month when we meet at 11:30 am. On the second Monday we swap materials and share our stash. On the third Monday we share completed projects, and on the last Monday we share a potluck lunch.
