The Trip to Yuma was a lot of fun, with beautiful weather in the mid 80s to low 90s. Coming back to the Banning 50s was a bit of an adjustment. Yuma has a lot to offer with sightseeing, restaurants, and the option to go to Mexico for dental work or purchase medicines that cost a fraction of what they cost in California. Every day there was music at the pool, which was a favorite with such nice weather. There were cornhole games one night and a Bocce Ball Tournament another night. The bocce ball team winners were: 1st place Richard Fetterman, Leon Fikse, Keith Nemire, and Lyn Ball; 2nd place Bob Huff, Kathy Cowen, Barbara Reed, and Gary Balcom; 3rd place Brenda Day, Jane Chaname, Lyn Schive, and Gloria Pendelton; 4th place Jim Ball, Robin Pay, Bob Schive, and Dan Cardella. Fortuna de Oro Resort held a dinner for the Canadians heading back home and everyone at the campground was invited. This year's Pirate Night was a fun night and several members dressed up in pirate attire. What a great time we had! The resort provided dinner, free wine and beer, ice cream, and a live band for dancing. Our next outing is to Wine Country RV Resort in Paso Robles, May 4 to May 9. You can still make reservations but the cost will be a little higher for those registering later. Call Anthony at (925) 334- 1349 for reservations. Please call the Trail Bosses, Lupe and Dan Cardella, at (310) 871-3862, if you have any questions. The weather appears to be in the 70s the whole week. Monday will be game day with a dinner of street tacos. Tuesday is golf day, Wednesday afternoon is fun at the Tin City Distillery, with a banquet completing the day. Thursday is a free day for you to visit the various wineries in the area. Many upcoming events are planned: July 29 Summer Potluck; and Sept. 28 to Oct. 3 camping rally at the Jackson Rancheria campground. This has been a favorite for campers in the past. Trail Bosses for this Rally are Leon and Harriet Fikse. More information coming soon for all of the above events. If you're interested in joining our fun-filled group you can contact Leon Fikse (President) at (909) 831-3809, or Bob Schive (VP) at (951) 990-2805. You do not need to have a trailer or motorhome to join, or participate in our outings, as a number of the sites we go to have little cottages that can be rented.
