56 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2025 | WWW (Water Weights Workout) Summer is around the corner. Get in shape by joining WWW water aerobics at South Clubhouse Pool Monday through Friday at 4 pm. Volunteer leaders like Mandy, Debbie, Margaret and Mickey will take you through exercises that will tone and stretch your muscles. Our workout was designed to improve your health without putting stress on your joints. Fun Bocce Factoid: Bocce is the third most popular sport/activity in the world after soccer and golf. The Winter/Spring Tournament is winding down and we have been blessed with good weather and few cancellations. Playoffs will be held on May 5 and 6. Come out and cheer the teams on. Sign-ups for the Summer Tournament must be turned in by May 9. Forms can be found in a sleeve on the outside of the gray locker at the Bocce courts. The summer Tournament runs from May 19 - Aug. 6 with playoffs on Aug. 11 and 12. Steve Horn, Head Referee, is looking for a few good people who would like to help with refereeing games. He will work with your schedules and offers training if needed. As a plus you will get an official "Bocce Referee" hat or visor. Steve's contact number is (925) 890-4568. Sadly, our General Membership Meeting and dinner scheduled for April 12 was canceled due to the change of the Restaurant management company. Our next General Membership meeting is Oct. 18. We will have more in information as we get closer to the date. Our President, Dennis Field, is working closely with Jason regarding improvements at the courts. We are currently working on having the side boards replaced, a sun shade for the parking lot side of the courts and a picnic table near court 3. We ask for your patience in this regard as all improvements must be approved and funded by the Master Board. Current Bocce Club members can get up to date information through Dennis' email blasts.
